In the lush canopy of a New Zealand forest, a kererū named Kahu glided clumsily through the trees, his iridescent feathers catching the sunlight. One sunny afternoon, drawn by the sweet scent of ripe kōwhai flowers, Kahu gorged himself until his belly was round and heavy. Swooping low, he misjudged a branch and tumbled into a soft fern bed below, startling a nearby kiwi. Unfazed, Kahu cooed loudly, shook his feathers, and flapped back into the sky, leaving a trail of petals and a forest echoing with his carefree song.

Our contemporary Tahei or Pendants can represent many different things depending on the shape, size, and creative insight when carved. For the most part, we leave it up our customers to determine for themselves what it represents. We like to do things differently, and that is why some of our Taonga are unique to us.
A signed and dated Certificate of Authenticity will come with this Taonga.
