This Patu you see here is one of our most complex designs. The attention to detail has really brought this Taonga to life. An added cord handle lashing to emphasise its character. We not only appreciate the large size of this Patu but the Māori art displayed. This is a one of a kind so we expect it to find a new whare and whanau soon. This Patu will come on a wood base with 3 words engraved.

Dimensions: 360mm x 120mm

Mere or Patu were originally used by Māori in hand-to-hand combat. They were also utilised as a everyday tool for cutting and striking objects. These sacred ancient Māori Taonga are symbols of mana (authority), status, cultural identity, and important relationships.

In most cases our Patu/Mere are purchased to be gifted as birthday gifts, leaving/welcoming gifts, celebrations and corporate events.
