ARIKI PONO Green Mapere Kotiate - XL
In the misty valleys of Aotearoa, where Tāne-mahuta's breath stirs, dwelt Ariki Pono, a Kotiate of exquisite grace, shaped by the land's spirit. Carved from deep kakariki kohatu, it shimmered like ika scales under moonlight, veined with ancestral paths. Its rounded blade bore swirling koru like unfurling ferns, symbolizing renewal, with notches evoking wise strength. A cord looped through its eye, tassel fraying like faded dreams.
Not just a weapon, Ariki Pono "True Chief" embodied pure mana.

The Kotiate was a prized weapon favored by Rangatira (Maori chiefs) when speech-making. It is also a pre-European weapon used for close combat. The carved notches were apparently so they got entwined with the combatant's intestines, as per the translation of the word kotiate, which means "to cut liver."
In most cases, our Kotiate are purchased to be gifted as birthday gifts, leaving/welcoming gifts, celebrations, and corporate events.
A signed and dated Certificate of Authenticity will come with this Taonga.
