This Patu is unique which makes it exclusive and only found 
with us. A very thin Red Onyx Patu that has been painted gold on one side. As you can see, we chose to paint the side of the patu that had the natural Inomely to emphasize and mimic the texture that gold typically has. We wove a tether and bound the handle in cord as a feature. This Patu is certainly something different, and we just know the recipient will have a place for it in their heart.

Mere or Patu were originally used by Māori in hand-to-hand combat. They were also utilized as an everyday tool for cutting and striking objects. These sacred ancent Māori Taonga symbols of mana (authority), status, cultural identity, and important relationships.
In most cases, our Patu/Mere are purchased to be gifted as birthdays, leaving/welcoming gifts and other celebrations, etc.
