This Patu has a vibrant orange/gold and green separation, which makes it more desirable than most. This is one of only a few that we have made of this particular stone, so just know there are only a few less than 10 Patu of this kohatu out there in the world.

Mere or Patu were originally used by Māori in hand-to-hand combat. They were also utilized as an everyday tool for cutting and striking object. These sacred ancent Māori Taonga symbols of mana (authority), status, cultural identity, and important relationships.
